Scouts are expected to wear full (Class A) Scout uniform to weekly troop meetings. Wearing the uniform shows scout spirit which is a prerequisite for rank advancement.
This means:
| Scout Shirt | |
| Scout pants or Scout shorts | |
| Scout belt (web or leather) | |
| Scout Socks | |
| Troop Neckerchief (optional) | |
| Neckerchief Slide | |
| Scout Cap (optional) |
A boy must be dressed in full (Class A) Scout uniform (including merit badge sash, if applicable) in order to participate in a Scoutmaster Conference or Board of Review.
The Merit badge sash is optional for Troop Meetings unless it is a Board of Review or Court of Honor.
Order of the Arrow members should only wear their OA sashes at OA functions or at meetings where they represent the OA (OA elections, Crossover ceremonies, etc.). If you are not sure when to wear the sash, ask an adult OA member.
A full uniform is required to attend Summer Camp.
Activities that Qualify for Second Class (2a) and First Class (3) Requirements
General Requirement: Participate in a full day Troop or Patrol activity lasting 4 hours or more.
Our policy is that the boy may not "double dip"– earn two requirements for the same activity.
The following qualify as ONE activity:
| Weekend overnight camping trip with Troop or Patrol | |
| Summer Camp | |
| Long-term Backpack | |
| All-day Troop or Patrol Outing (e.g. Rock Climbing, Bike Hike, Ski trip) | |
| Helping with an Eagle Scout Service Project (4+ hours) | |
| Setting up/Taking Down/Working in the Troop Scout-O-Rama Booth (4+ hours) | |
| Setting up/Taking Down/Working in the Troop Game booth at Halloween Camp (4+ hours) | |
| Marching in 4th of July Parade (4+ hours) | |
| Scouting for Food bag drop-off and bag pick-up (4+ hours) |
The following activities do not qualify:
| Merit badge class (e.g. at Sea Base, Merit Badge Day) | |
| Meeting with a Merit Badge Counselor | |
| Troop Meeting | |
| Patrol Meeting | |
| Pack Meeting | |
| Car Wash | |
| SOR Ticket sales | |
| Greenery sales | |
| Scouting for Food bag distribution only |
These lists are not meant to be all inclusive. Other items "may" count as an activity but must be approved by the Executive Committee BEFORE the activity is done.
As a troop, we are lucky enough to have a large number of activities planned throughout the year. Therefore, any scout that is even moderately active has ample opportunity to participate in enough qualified activities to complete rank advancement in a timely manner.
Scouts are urged to keep track of Activities they participate in by listing the activities inside the front of their Scout Handbook.
